Terms, privacy & community rules

point.et is run by Anwar Misbah, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Last updated 13 October 2026.

The rules of the table

  1. Argue ideas, never people. No attacks on a person, group, ethnicity, religion, gender or disability.
  2. No hate, threats or incitement. Nothing that calls for violence or discrimination against anyone.
  3. No private information. Don’t post anyone’s phone, address, photos or private details.
  4. No lies about real people. Don’t accuse a named person of something you can’t show.
  5. No spam or paid manipulation. One person, one side. No buying or faking sides, reasons or credits.
  6. Ideas are fair game; founders are not. Criticise the idea as hard as you like, kindly to the person.

Anyone can report a point or reason. Three reports hide it until we review it. We remove what breaks these rules, and may remove accounts that keep breaking them.

What you post

You keep ownership of your points and reasons. By posting, you let point.et show them, share them (including as images) and keep them up so the debate makes sense. You are responsible for what you post. Ideas posted for validation are public — don’t post anything you need to keep secret.

Sides and “minds changed”

You can take a side without an account. We keep one side per device using a random id in a cookie; it identifies the device, not you. If you sign in later, the sides from that phone move to your account. “Minds changed” counts people who switched sides and credited a reason.

Your data

Sponsored and paid features

If we ever show a sponsored point it is always labelled “Sponsored”. Paid features never buy sides, reasons or “minds changed”.

No warranty

point.et is provided as is. Opinions are the people’s who post them, not ours. Validation results are signals, not market research or financial advice.
